About
Newcastle Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (NWDVCAS) provides specialist support, advocacy, referral services and information to women and their children experiencing domestic and family violence in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions of NSW. The service assists women navigating the court system, particularly those seeking Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs), and works with legal representatives and police to ensure conditions suit individual needs. NWDVCAS specialises in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women from multicultural backgrounds, older women, women with disabilities, youth, and LGBTQ+ women.
