Giving Philosophy

The foundation's philosophy, championed by co-founders Tara Winkler and Pon Jedtha, is to dismantle the structural root causes of poverty and replace dependence on charity with locally owned public systems of social support in Cambodia. They advocate for an 'upstream approach' to child protection, strengthening vulnerable families to prevent children from entering orphanages, and have been instrumental in transforming care models from institutional to family-based. The Village Hive model, formally adopted by the Cambodian Government as a national framework for social protection in June 2025, emphasizes collaborative community engagement, universal public services, and early intervention programs to raise living standards.
