Tips for Applicants
Apply through their three program streams (Country And Culture, Healing And Wellbeing, Truth And Justice) and ensure your organisation or project is Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander led. Submit well before the assessment deadlines (January 20 for February round, May 30 for June round, September 30 for October round).
Giving Philosophy
The foundation values First Nations self-determination and prioritises funding only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander led organisations and projects. It provides one-off grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 and assesses applications three times yearly (February, June, October). The foundation takes a flexible, agile approach and supports through financial contributions, convening safe spaces for collaboration, and influencing policy.

Country And Culture
Projects must result in sustainable benefits related to caring for Country, supporting cultural practice, renewal or cultural education, and/or development of First Peoples art forms. Thematic priorities for 2025/26 include cultural knowledge transfer and practices (intergenerational), and truth telling in historic or contemporary contexts.
Healing And Wellbeing
Projects must focus on First Peoples personal and/or collective healing and wellbeing, ideally scalable and/or of national significance. Thematic priorities for 2025/26 include truth telling leading to healing, and social and emotional wellbeing for young people.
Truth And Justice
Projects must prioritize nationally significant matters. Thematic priorities for 2025/26 include tackling incarceration (especially youth incarceration and youth justice), and supporting First Nations led dialogue on truth and justice.
