About

The Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) is a collaborative research and education institution based in Sydney, Australia. It is a partnership of four NSW universities and the NSW Department of Primary Industries, dedicated to addressing critical issues for the marine environment through applied marine research, education, and outreach.

Giving Philosophy

As a leading marine research and education institute, SIMS primarily funds and conducts its own applied marine research projects, educational initiatives, and outreach programs. Any 'giving' typically takes the form of supporting internal research projects, facilitating collaborative scientific initiatives, and offering scholarships or fellowships to advance marine science knowledge and conservation.
