Tips for Applicants

Applicants should align proposals with WCCT's focus on Indigenous community benefit, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and youth/family development in the Western Cape region. Applications close in April annually; engage with the relevant sub-committee focus areas (Education & Training, Environment & Heritage, Economic & Workforce Management, or Aboriginal Matters) to strengthen alignment with funding priorities.

Giving Philosophy

WCCT operates with a commitment to transparency, Indigenous self-determination, and community co-ownership, guided by the principle of unity and sustainable advancement for Traditional Owner communities. The foundation values respect for cultural heritage and the past while supporting thriving futures, with governance shared across multiple Traditional Owner Groups and community stakeholders. Funding decisions are made through sub-committees focused on education & training, environment & heritage, economic & workforce management, and Aboriginal matters.
