Tips for Applicants

Applicants must be RCH, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), or University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics staff. The process requires an Expression of Interest (EOI) approved by a relevant Chief / Executive Director. If the EOI is successful, a full proposal will be invited. All proposals must be endorsed by the RCH CEO for consideration. MCRI and University of Melbourne applicants should seek internal approval from management at least six weeks prior to intended submission.

Giving Philosophy

The foundation's giving philosophy is centred on supporting the RCH and its campus partners (MCRI and University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics) by funding initiatives that go above and beyond the hospital's day-to-day operations. They aim to deliver exceptional patient and family-centred care, foster research for new treatments, acquire advanced equipment, invest in leadership, education and training, and support regional Victorian healthcare services.

Notable Grants

Funding enabled by the RCH Auxiliaries for Joey Pods – an innovative purpose-built three-bed unit at RCH's Banksia Ward, designed to provide integrated medical, psychiatric, and nutritional care for adolescents aged 13 to 18 years struggling with eating disorders and complex mental health challenges.
