Description

Intrinsic structures in partial differential equations. Partial differential equations (PDE) provide a modern language to explain phenomena in our daily life with many applications in engineering, science, and technology. The basic question concerning global existence and smoothness of the solution is one of the main streams in modern mathematics. This project aims to develop new analysis tools to uncover the intrinsic structures of fundamental PDEs including Euler and Navier-Stoke equations, which reflect the fluid mechanics and quantum mechanics. The outcome of the project will help solving long-term problems in the field and strengthen Australian visibility and standing in the global community. This project will also provide training of high level for the next-generation researchers.. Scheme: Discovery Projects. Field: 4904 - Pure Mathematics. Lead: A/Prof Ji Li
