Description

Next Generation Ultra Low Carbon Concrete: A Dual Carbon Capture technology. This project aims to investigate an ultra-low carbon concrete by integrating biochar derived from organic waste and carbon dioxide storage technology, in partnership with a Victorian Indigenous Land Council. This project expects to generate transformative knowledge in carbon sequestration by elucidating the synergistic mechanisms between carbon dioxide storage and biochar incorporation in the next generation of sustainable construction technologies. Expected outcomes include integrated novel carbon capture and biochar technologies, strengthened Indigenous partnerships and reduced waste. This should provide benefits through carbon market opportunities, Indigenous economic participation, and Australia's leadership in sustainable construction.. Scheme: Discovery Indigenous. Field: 4005 - Civil Engineering. Lead: Prof Shannon Kilmartin-Lynch
