Description

Tracking Islamophobia and its impacts on Australian Muslims lives. The project aims to establish a longitudinal cohort study to identify Australian Muslims experiences of interpersonal Islamophobia and potential links to social, economic, and mental health outcomes. It will also longitudinally monitor social media, news, international events and associated anti-Muslim sentiment, to establish potential links with Islamophobic attacks and discrimination. It will be the first longitudinal cohort study to examine the influence of interpersonal incidences of Islamophobia and its effect of Muslims lives. Outcomes include evidence on the impacts of Islamophobia on Australian Muslims social, economic, and health outcomes, and inform efforts to reduce the incidence and harms of Islamophobia. .
