Description

ARC Training Centre for Advancing Archaeology in the Resources Sector. This Centre aims to transform cultural heritage management in the resources sector by advancing the integration of archaeological expertise with mining activities. The Centre will use cutting-edge technologies and mining-specific frameworks to enhance archaeological outcomes in collaboration with Australia’s largest resources companies, Traditional Owners, and cultural heritage consulting firms. Expected outcomes include a new generation of archaeologists and mining leaders skilled in balancing mining impacts, cultural heritage and social responsibility. This project will help facilitate Australia’s critical minerals strategy, safeguard Indigenous cultural heritage, and advance sustainable, culturally-informed resource management..
