Description

Large-scale network design for continuous-variable quantum communication. Progress in quantum computing poses a dire threat to cybersecurity and data protection. This has led to worldwide efforts to build a quantum internet - a new type of communications network that can provide an unprecedented level of data security, entirely future-proof against quantum computers. This project aims to design a new quantum internet architecture devised to be significantly more compatible with current telecommunications infrastructure. Expected outcomes of this project include the design of a fundamental building block to construct a cost-effective and materials efficient implementation of the quantum internet. This should provide significant benefits by safeguarding cybersecurity for the future. . Scheme: Discovery Early Career Researcher Award. Field: 5108 - Quantum Physics. Lead: Dr Josephine Dias
