Description

Industry Scale Extracellular Vesicle Customisation and Analytics. This project focuses on developing methods for loading small molecules into tiny particles naturally released by cells, called extracellular vesicles (EVs). EVs from stem cells have natural healing properties, and this project aims to enhance natural EV functionality by loading them with inorganic molecules and RNA. Additionally, using EV manufacturing facilities coupled with single particle analysis and in-depth mass spectrometry methods, this project aims to develop analytical assays and set industry standards for large-scale production and testing of EVs. The expected outcome is development of novel EV loading methods and enhanced quality assurance for EV products. This should have significant benefits for EV manufacturing in Australia.. Scheme: Early Career Industry Fellowships. Field: 3106 - Industrial Biotechnology. Lead: Dr Ella Johnston
