Description

Mapping the Development of Emotional Reactivity in Childhood. This project aims to discover how emotional reactivity develops in early childhood. Using psychological and physiological assessment techniques, the research will advance our understanding of the role of child and parental emotional reactivity in the development of empathy and aggression in childhood. Expected outcomes include novel evidence about when and how emotional reactivity may contribute to risk for adverse child outcomes. Benefits include earlier detection and intervention of risk factors for childhood mental health problems, which can significantly alter developmental trajectories for children and their families, in ways that are socially and economically beneficial for communities.. Scheme: Discovery Early Career Researcher Award. Field: 5201 - Applied and Developmental Psychology. Lead: Dr Frances Doyle
