Description

Transforming disaster resilience through a community collaborative model. This Fellowship aims to develop a collaborative and evidence-based disaster governance model. Working in partnership with disaster preparedness and response agencies, this project expects to generate a transformative shift away from government dependence and towards proactive sector and community collaboration. Expected outcomes of this project include a disaster governance model that reduces community vulnerability and better prepares them for future disasters. This should provide significant benefits through equipping communities, government, and disaster agencies with a model suitable for the changing future challenges of natural disasters, potentially saving lives and property, and reducing the physical and mental economic burden. . Scheme: Early Career Industry Fellowships. Field: 4101 - Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation. Lead: Dr Margaret Cook
