Description

Innovations to Enhance Sustainability and Resilience in Building Façades. This project aims to foster innovations to enhance sustainability and resilience in building façades. The project proposes to develop a novel composite façade frame using aluminium and timber through detailed experimental and advanced numerical studies. The proposed frame will be energy efficient, cost effective, durable, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing while having the coupling mechanism for effective installation in curtain wall and window wall applications. Suitable design rules and detailing guidelines will also be developed for safe and economical design of these new façade frames. This should provide significant benefits to façade industry by mitigating environmental impacts and striving towards carbon neutrality.. Scheme: Linkage Projects. Field: 4005 - Civil Engineering. Lead: Dr Shanmuganathan Gunalan
