Requirements Summary
Eligible organisations must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporations, government entities, companies, associations, not-for-profit organisations, or local government councils with an ABN, GST registration (if applicable), and an Australian financial institution account. Projects must be located in Australian states and territories (ACT, NSW, VIC, SA, WA, QLD, NT, TAS) and commence after 1 July 2026. Grant funding ranges from $20,000 to $200,000 for projects lasting 12 to 36 months. Applications must be submitted through SmartyGrants by 16 March 2026 at 11:30 pm ACT Local Time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Eligibility Criteria
Organisation must have an ABN
Must be registered for GST purposes if gross annual income minus GST is $75,000 or more ($150,000 for non-profit organisations)
Must have an account with an Australian financial institution
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 and compliant with ASIC director ID number requirements
Commonwealth, State or Territory government corporate entity
Company incorporated in Australia, company limited by guarantee, or incorporated association
Not-for-profit organisation, partnership, joint consortia application with lead organisation, publicly funded research organisation, or State/Territory local government council
Project location must be in ACT, NSW, VIC, SA, WA, QLD, NT, or TAS
Timeline
Grant opportunity made available to applicants
Applications must be submitted through SmartyGrants by 11:30 pm ACT Local Time
Funded projects must commence on or after this date
